5 Top Tips For The Perfect Pizza Party
In a world of ever-changing food tastes and trends, one food retains its ubiquitous appeal among food lovers. And that food, of course, is pizza!

Whether it’s a children’s birthday, or some adult friends sharing delicious pizza and a few drinks, pizza ticks all the boxes to make your party one that everybody will be talking about.
So here are our 5 top tips for throwing the perfect pizza party.
- The perfect base. There are 2 options when it comes to your pizza base. Either you can make your own dough (see previous blog here for how to do this https://www.homemadepizzaclub.co.uk/blogs/news/how-to-make-the-perfect-pizza-dough) or alternatively you can buy in a pre-made base kit that you simply finish with cheese and toppings. If it is a children’s party, a pre-made base option could be better to reduce mess and make it easier for them to make their own pizza. Using a pre-made base also means you can spend a little less time making your pizzas and more time entertaining your guests.
- How many people are you entertaining at your party? As a rule, one regular size pizza (around 11-12”) will feed 3 or 4 smaller children or 2 older children. If your guests are all adults, then allow 1 pizza per person. If there are leftovers these taste just as good the next day, so put them in your fridge or give your guests some to take home with them!
- Toppings. This is where you can unleash your creativity! Children will generally prefer more basic toppings such as pepperoni, pineapple, ham but don’t forget pizza is a great way to introduce their young taste buds to new flavours. If they help to make their own pizzas, why not try encouraging them to try new flavours by giving them vegetables such as peppers, onions or even courgettes to put on their pizza. If your guests are adults, then you can often be more creative and use some interesting and different toppings. Why not offer your guests a pizza combination they’ve never had before? Or even ask them to bring the most unusual toppings they can think of with a prize for the most unusual or successful pizza!
- How to cook your pizza. If you have made your own dough, then cooking it in a proper pizza oven will always give the best results (domestic ovens can struggle to generate high enough temperatures to cook dough properly). One way to overcome this is to roll out your dough before part cooking it in a large frying pan (no oil required) for a minute each side before putting your tomato sauce, cheese and toppings on it. You can then bake it in the oven on a high heat for around 5 minutes. Alternatively, if you use a part-baked pizza base (such as Homemade Pizza Club’s), this will likely cook more successfully in a domestic oven and has the benefit of being easier to prepare. Simply top with cheese and toppings before placing directly onto the oven shelf for around 5 minutes on a high heat.
- Aim to cater for everybody’s taste and diet. Perhaps some of your guests are gluten intolerant or coeliac, perhaps some are following healthier diets. Perhaps some are vegan/vegetarian.
